    El Rincón Club de Campo

This wonderful place, which is just five minutes away from the city, offers its members 70 hectares of unique green grassland with 3,000 meters on the Neuquén river shore. Although short, its golf course is regarded as a professional one due to its level of difficulty. The fast sand greens are almost 20 meters high and planted with creeping bentgrass (Agrostis maritima). The antegreens, starting tees and fairways are planted with Bermuda grass. Five big lagoons defy those playing holes 10,13,14,15 and 16.

    Fishing Activities

    Northern Neuquén
From Chos Malal, tourists can access rapid rivers teeming with rainbow trout. Season: after the thawing period.

    Neuquén
Several rivers including the Limay Medio are ideal for fly-fishing large rainbow trout and brown trout. Season: November through April.

    Alumine and its tributary rivers
Well within reach of Junin de los Andes lies the source of the Chimehuin river, with its topnotch rainbow and brown trout fishing. It is one of the most privileged spots for fly-fishing in the country due to the characteristics of the rivers, climate and landscape.

    Parque Nacional Lanín

Lanín National Park Lanín National Park
This scenic 379,000-hectare unit was created in 1937 for the purpose of protecting the Patagonian Andean forests, home to species like the pehuén (araucaria or monkey puzzle tree), raulí (Nothofagus nervosa) and pellín (Nothofagus obliqua). This park, with its awesome lake and mountain scenery, is located in the southwestern part of Neuquén province.

The park takes its name from Volcán Lanín, a volcano whose snowcapped cone dominates the view in all directions and stands over 1,500 meters above the other peaks in the area. The 24 glacial lakes boasted by this unit are equally worthwhile.

    Huemul Natural Monument

This indigenous Andean deer of the Patagonian woodlands, typical of Argentina and Chile, lives alone or in small herds of no more than ten individuals. In summer, they usually climb to the Andean prairies and in winter they go down to the valleys. This strong and robust animal features speckled yellowish-brown pelage, bright eyes and nose and big ears. Males possess small v-shaped antlers, shed every year.

The number of huemuls got drastically reduced during the XX century due to abusive hunting practices, dogs' attacks, livestock-spread diseases and habitat modifications. It is considered a threatened species both at the international and national level. Monumento Natural Huemul del Sur. Nowadays, the huemul is a protected specimen in the following national parks: Nahuel Huapi, Lago Puelo, Los Alerces, Perito Moreno, and Los Glaciares. The huemul was declared Natural Monument in 1996.
