    Entre Ríos

Entre Rios, which literally means "between rivers", is located in the south of the Mesopotamia, at the confluence of the Paraná and Uruguay rivers.

The Zárate Brazo Largo bridge and the Túnel Subfluvial Hernandarias, a sub fluvial tunnel linking Santa Fé and Paraná, which opened the way for land transportation across the Paraná river, together with the development of the MERCOSUR and its growing trade, have brought about significant changes to the volume of traffic and tourism in Entre Rios.

    Colón Colón
A province traditionally centered in agribusiness, it boasts a capital city, Paraná, sitting on the banks of the namesake river, with stunning natural beauties and a tourism center with varied accommodations, a casino and the possibility to go fishing and practice water sports.

Among the main tourist attractions we find the Parque Nacional El Palmar (El Palmar National Park), located near Colón, and General Urquiza's Palacio San José (San José Palace), close to Concepción del Uruguay, both on the Uruguay river.

Another popular attraction worth mentioning that draws thousands of people, both locals and tourists, is the carnival celebrations held in Gualeguaychú and Gualeguay, cities situated in southern Entre Ríos.

    Regional culinary specialties
    Some traditional dishes are:
Chupin (fish casserole) and river fish cooked in different styles.

Parque Nacional El Palmar Parque Nacional El Palmar

    Parque Nacional El Palmar

This 8,500-hectare national park was founded in 1966 in order to preserve a sector of yatay palms (Syagrus yatay).

It is located in the center-east of Entre Ríos province, on the west bank of the Uruguay river, halfway between Colón (54 km or 34 miles) and Concordia (60 km or 38 miles).

This park is characterized by a mix of palms, grasslands and small forests, interspersed with scrub areas and gallery forests along the waterways.

The typical tree of this park, the elegant yatay palm grows in clusters of varied density and specimens of similar age. These palm trees shelter extensive areas of plants, many of which bear strikingly beautiful flowers.

Among the indigenous fauna, you can find woodpeckers and, in the savannas, you will see groups of ñandúes or rheas (Rhea americana) and isolated red-winged tinamous. The common zorro, quite a docile mammal, can be seen on the park's roads too.
