Province Chubut
Ver página em Português | Ver página en Español
Located on the Chubut river, where it flows into the Atlantic Ocean, Rawson - its capital city- is full of remains of the Welsh immigration that colonized most of the province, mainly the interior towns.
Lying close to Puerto Madryn, the Valdes Peninsula is an area renowned for whales, elephant seals and sea lions. Crowded with an extraordinary variety of birds, the Isla de los Pájaros (the Bird Island) offers an outstanding spectacle. Farther to the south, right on the gulf of San Jorge lies Comodoro Rivadavia, the main oil-producing center in the country, which has grown steadily throughout the years.
Specific sports like mountain fishing and big game hunting attract a very selective kind of tourist.
